About My Artistic Vision
Blending timeless technique with modern expression to create evocative art.
Creating Art That Bridges Tradition and Modernity
I'm one of those people that looks at clouds and sees objects and critters and people and energies and all sorts of stuff. What I see is very important to what I create, although I never try to portray anything exactly as it appears. My camera can do that, but I see no point in trying to. I paint my imagination, not the actual clouds.
Colour is personal. Colour is emotional. Colour is us.
Â
Most people have a favorite colour. Few people understand why. ‘I just like it’. Okay. The following is my understanding.
Â
Chakras are commonly shown in different colours that largely match the rainbow.  The base chakra is red. Sexual chakra is orange. Power chakra is yellow. This is significant and continues up the body – green (heart), blue (throat), indigo (third eye), violet (crown). ‘Roy G Biv’ as we learned in art class. Good old Roy.
Â
Similarly, music is arranged on a scale containing 7 individual notes. Ascending from the root note (where one is rooted), through 7 following notes, completes an octave, duplicating your root note 1 octave higher. Seven individual notes, seven physical chakras. We live in a sea of vibrations - we are those vibrations ourselves, and the vibration that we live at determines the note that we feel most aligned with, like our favourite colour is most attuned to the light vibration we are keyed to. The key our individual personal music is in. Individual personal music is a topic that I'll get into later.
Â
If you could hear your art, what would it sound like? If you could see your music what would it look like? I believe that the art that you collect is the music and visuals that depict your life. That is what I try to do when I create something. What you see on this website describes my life, describes my song, describes my vibration in this world, and if you like it then maybe it does something similar for you. It has given me maximum pleasure to explore this in myself, which is why I'm sharing it. I don't need your money, but I won't refuse it either. I mean who does that?
Â
So this is what I do with color, line, and emotion. I take an initial step by painting a picture, downloading an image, or choosing one of the many photos that I've taken, and loading it onto my computer and into paint shop pro. That's where I start a digital manipulation of the source material. This may take the form of something that is recognizable from the original, or worlds apart, sometimes universes apart. What I'm going for in doing this is giving form to something that you normally wouldn't see, energies being one of my favorites. Some people think of this as abstract. I suppose it is, but I like to think of it as speculative. Human senses can't capture the totality of what energy creates, even with all our wonderful machines. Imagination picks up where reality leaves off.
